The Journey

In seven chapters

Olbia → a Sardinian family farm → Palau
01
Day 1

Olbia → a Sardinian family farm → Palau

Meeting at Olbia airport at 13:00. On the way to Palau we stop at a charming family estate — local cheeses, salumi, organic vegetables and house wine, the best possible way to enter Sardinia. We continue along a coastal road of viewpoints (Porto Rotondo, Portisco, Cala di Volpe) and check in to our hotel overlooking the Maddalena archipelago.

La Maddalena — 'Little Paris' and Garibaldi's Caprera
02
Day 2

La Maddalena — 'Little Paris' and Garibaldi's Caprera

Breakfast and a ferry to La Maddalena — what locals call 'Little Paris' — connected by a bridge to the tiny island of Caprera, where Garibaldi, the hero of two worlds, lived out his last years. We visit his house-museum and then wander the streets, cafés and shops of La Maddalena.

Alghero — the Coral Riviera and a Catalan corner
03
Day 3

Alghero — the Coral Riviera and a Catalan corner

A two-hour drive to Alghero, where elderly residents still speak and write in Catalan and every second shop window glows with handmade coral jewellery. We walk the city walls, squares and lanes of this fortress-town, taste local sweets and meet a few of its coral artisans.

A yacht through the Maddalena archipelago
04
Day 4

A yacht through the Maddalena archipelago

The day devoted to what people truly come to Sardinia for — the sea. We sail among the islands of the Maddalena: hidden coves, protected reserves with beaches no one has set foot on for years, granite cliffs glowing in the light. Our captain serves a light lunch with wine on board, and tells the stories of a real 'sea wolf'.

Corsica — wild nature, French chic and Bonifacio
05
Day 5

Corsica — wild nature, French chic and Bonifacio

After breakfast we board the ferry to France. An hour of sea and cliffs and we are walking through Bonifacio, the town perched directly above the water. A guided walk, then free time for a French lunch. In the afternoon, the ferry brings us back to Italy.

The real Sardinia — Aggius, the Valley of the Moon, Castelsardo
06
Day 6

The real Sardinia — Aggius, the Valley of the Moon, Castelsardo

Inland to the Sardinia that existed long before the coastal resorts — granite houses of Aggius, the breathtaking Valley of the Moon, the small museum that preserves the rituals, magic and weaving traditions of a Sardinian family. We stop at a cheesemaker for a tasting, then continue to the Genoese citadel of Castelsardo for its towers, narrow lanes and artisan workshops.

Arzachena — 'Archaeology of a thousand secrets' → Olbia
07
Day 7

Arzachena — 'Archaeology of a thousand secrets' → Olbia

Breakfast, then we leave with luggage toward Olbia, stopping at the archaeological park of Arzachena — the heartland of the mysterious Shardana, the 'Sea Peoples' that still puzzle researchers. A short stop in the artists' village of Pantaleo for a final coffee. Arrival at Olbia airport by 15:00.

Every journey is rewritten to your party, your dates and your pace. The itinerary you read here is a starting point — never a package.
